This handmade wooden toy is made by the German brand “Lessing”, designed and handcrafted by the homonymous designer Christian Lessing.
The old technique of building masonry without mortar requires skill and patience. With the “Build a Wall Game” made of differently shaped wooden blocks, you can rediscover this art for yourself. It can be played with two different ways (it comes with instructions). Four different kinds of oiled wood are used (Beech, maple, ash and walnut). It is awarded the “Form 2007” award.

Lessing Produkgestaltung is a Duesseldorf based design-studio and toy company. Founded in 2006, the production facilities are situated in a green backyard at the heart of the city, where eco-friendly wooden toys for kids and adults are designed, handcrafted and packed for worldwide shipping.
Playing is trying! Thus, there are no fixed rules. Everything is simple – modular – expandable. Being purely “analogue”, their handmade wooden toys trigger all senses by their material, their feel and smell. They are a supplement as well as a counterpart for today’s “smart” world. But of course they have to look nice – they are designers after all. All their eco-friendly wooden toys are games as well as sculptures, toy blocks as well as palm stones.
Christian Lessing is the founder of the Lessing product design label. The trained carpenter has been working and studied graphic design as a freelance designer since 2006. He designs and makes wooden toys among others. Many of his toys have awarded the Spiel Gut seal.
